Who we are

Lovin’ the Var (lovinthevar.com) is run by Stephanie and Amy, based in the Var, France. For anything to do with this policy or your personal data, contact us at contact@lovinthevar.com.

What we collect

We collect personal data in two places on this site:

Newsletter signup: first name, country, and email address.
Contact form: name, email address, country, and whatever you write in the message field.

We don’t run any accounts, bookings, or payments through this site, so we don’t collect passwords, payment details, or booking information.

How we use it

Newsletter details are used only to send you updates from Lovin’ the Var, and only if you signed up yourself. Contact form details are used only to read and reply to your message. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

Where it’s stored

Newsletter signups are stored in our internal Notion workspace. Contact form messages come straight to our inbox. The rest of the site, articles, events, and place information, is powered by our shared backend. If we add analytics or other tracking tools in the future, this section will be updated to reflect that.

Cookies

This site does not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If that changes, we’ll update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter details for as long as you’re subscribed, and contact form messages for as long as reasonably needed to handle your inquiry. You can ask us to delete either at any time.

Your rights

Since we’re based in France, you have rights under the GDPR over your personal data: to access it, correct it, delete it, object to how it’s used, and ask for a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email contact@lovinthevar.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL, France’s data protection authority, if you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled a request.

Other services we use

We rely on a few outside providers to run this site and handle the data above: Notion (newsletter list), our shared backend (site data), and Lovable (site hosting and build platform). Each processes data under its own privacy policy in addition to this one.

Children

This site isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
